Located at 58 Sackville St, this modest eatery invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy a relaxed dining experience enriched by attentive service and fresh, vibrant flavors.

The menu offers a diverse range of classic dishes, with standout options such as Fried Rice, Duck with Lemon Sauce, and Mongolian Beef. These dishes highlight the restaurant’s skill in balancing robust flavors and well-executed techniques. The duck, in particular, has garnered praise for its tender texture and bold taste, rivaling the best in Victoria and Western Australia. Vegetable lovers will appreciate choices like Mixed Vegetables in Oyster Sauce and the Prawn and Cashew, which showcase a careful harmony of textures and colors.

For starters, the Homemade Dim Sims, Fried Wontons, and Chicken Satay set the tone with their fresh, crispy textures and savory fillings, making them perfect for sharing as part of a communal meal. Diners often comment on the speed and precision with which meals are served, ensuring hot, satisfying dishes that never feel rushed but arrive promptly. The space itself is intimate, ideal for small groups and families seeking comfort without fuss.

Regular patrons admire the friendly atmosphere fostered by the staff, with several reviews highlighting a personable service experience that adds to the overall charm. The BYO policy, limited to wine, encourages guests to complement their meals with their own choice of beverage, enhancing the casual and flexible dining vibe.

Desserts such as Banana Fritters and Fried Ice Cream complete the experience. While the fried ice cream's exterior can be a little too thick, it does little to overshadow the generally exceptional quality and enjoyment of the meal.

Whether you’re local or just passing through Port Fairy, it stands as a reliable destination for warm hospitality and satisfying cuisine.

A group of us (6) ate in here. It was a Monday night so not so busy. Between the six of us we ordered something like 9 or 10 entrees. These included, short soups, chicken & corn soups, fried wontons, dim sums and chicken satays. These were all pretty good, no complaints. Mains we ordered 6 and 2 special fried rices. All meals came out in pretty good time. As we were all sharing this suited us. All meals were fresh and hot. The serves aren't as large as some other restaurants but they were not small. Some of the group ordered dessert. Fried icecream and banana fritters were ordered. The fried icecreams' outer batter was too thick, sorry guy's this is the only big negative for the whole meal. I recommend and would go back when we are in the area again. 8.5/10.

If the sign out the front says "takeaway open“ then dining in is still open. Pictured are lemon chicken, Mongolian beef and mixed vegetables. BYO is wine only and $4/person as at December 2024, so if you want wine with dinner then swing by the IGA nearby and pick up a bottle there.

Spending a week at Port fairy and decided to try Chinese. The restaurant is a bit dated but I actually liked it. Felt quarky. I had the Mongolian beef dish which was probably the best I've had from any Chinese restaurant. My wife had the chicken veg which was also nice. The food is excellent and the lady was very friendly.

As the only customers for the duration we definitely couldn’t complain about the service. Dim sims a little cold (clearly microwaved!), servings a little small for usual Chinese sizing but the honey chicken and fried rice were up to standard. Beautiful owner was super helpful.
